My breakfast/lunch this morning: sunny side up eggs that one of my clients gave me from his farm (yum!) over toasted bread squares, served with salad, sliced tomatoes, olive oil, and salt.
My friends are big on setting goals for the upcoming year on your birthday. It's a fantastic time to set goals and reflect on your achievements from the past year. Plus, now that I'm single and without TV (just canceled cable because my roommate and I never watch TV) I have some free time on my hands to work on myself.
On my birthday last week I decided to set the following goals for year 26:
1. Become more involved with Charity work.
Last year I joined The Associates which is part of the Saint Francis Foundation. Although I paid my dues, I have only attended two events. I occasionally help out with a couple other charities around the bay, but never regularly. Thus, my goal this year is to become an active member of at least one charity.
2. Compete (not just run) in Half-Marathons
This goal may be a little out of reach. I ran cross-country in college and actually never competed in an event. You have to be part of the top 8 girls to compete. Never made it, lol. However, I was winning or placing in half-marathons, which was exhilarating. I have already started training for this goal. For the last three weeks I have been running 5-6 times a week. 3 of the 5 runs have been 10.5 miles runs and I just started timing myself. Last night I ran the 10.5 mile run at 8:05 min/mile pace. I was weirdly excited with my little achievement :).
3. Blog More
Hasn't started out so well since I haven't blogged in a week and a half. But, it's still one of my goals. You all can be the judge of how well I do :)
I hope you all have a great weekend. I am off to a party with all my girlfriends where you dress as someone from San Francisco: Tourist, Hippie, Mission Hipster, Bush Man, Bicyclist, Marina Mom, etc. I have decided on a Mission Hipster. We'll see how it turns out!?
Here's a picture of me during my run this morning. Averaged 8:52 min/mile on the 10.5 mile run. Not as good as last night - but still fun!
